Do you enjoy reading and listening to poetry? Then why not come and try out our latest exciting Poetry for Pleasure programme? We are a small, friendly group, meeting on the first Thursday afternoon of most months, from 2-4pm at the group leader's home.
We have a yearly programme of broad ranging topics and poets suggested by the members; recent topics have included poems about water, poems relating to women’s rights and poems relating to new technology. Recent poets included John Clare, Seamus Heaney and Owen Shears.
We each bring along two or three poems, related to the topic of the month, which we share with the rest of the group and discuss in a relaxed, informal manner. We end the afternoon with tea, coffee and biscuits. Do take a look at our new programme and you are warmly welcomed to pop along and try us out.
